Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners launches Saturday, June 6, 2026, the morning after the Shattered live event broke the old map apart. The season is built around speed. High-sprint mobility, a new sliding mechanic powered by the Seven Power Boots, returning Sprites that buff movement and combat, an exposed Zero Point sitting in the center of a brand-new tropical biome, and a Battle Pass headlined by a cel-shaded John Wick collab. Here is everything confirmed before servers go live.
1. The Map | Shattered Coast and the Exposed Zero Point
The Shattered event wiped out the Dark Dominion POI entirely. In its place, Epic has built a tropical biome covering the central portion of the island, anchored by the Zero Point sitting fully exposed at its center. This is the first time the Zero Point has been a live, visitable map object available to all players in a standard match. It is also the most contested hot-drop zone in the season by design, a deliberate choice to funnel early fights into the geographic and narrative core of the season.
Two other major POI changes define the Season 3 layout:
NEW POI
Duck Mansion
A new named location tied directly to the duck-themed cosmetics appearing in the Season 3 Battle Pass. Confirmed to be a mid-tier loot zone with humor-forward interior design.
SCARRED LANDMARK
Battlewood (Damaged)
Survived the Zero Point discharge but sustained structural damage. Buildings have partial walls and collapsed sections, changing loot pathing and cover compared to Season 2.
The tropical biome replacing Dark Dominion features dense foliage, water channels, and elevated rock formations that surround the Zero Point. The transition from the prior map's darker aesthetic to tropical greens and exposed blue Zero Point energy is the starkest visual shift in Fortnite since the Chapter 3 flip.
2. New Mechanics | Seven Power Boots and the Return of Sprites
Season 3 adds two movement and combat mechanics that did not exist in Season 2. Both are tied to the season's "Runners" theme of speed and momentum.
Seven Power Boots
The Seven Power Boots are a dedicated mobility item that grants a significant sprint speed increase and enables extended power-sliding, a movement option that covers ground faster than any prior slide mechanic in the game. The boots are a high-value item: they are not in the standard floor loot or chest pool. They drop exclusively from Seven Caches, which spawn from rifts that appear at random locations during each match.
In Zero Build specifically, the boots change the threat model substantially. A player wearing Seven Power Boots closing distance on foot can reach engagement range faster than a player can rotate to face them, making positional awareness more important than in prior seasons. Expect the meta to heavily reward early Cache hunting.
Sprites Return
Sprites were first introduced in Chapter 6 Season 1 as small companion creatures that attached to the player and provided passive buffs. Season 3 brings them back in expanded form. Different Sprite types are now available, with Fire Sprites confirmed at launch:
🔥
Fire Sprite
Explosive damage modification on equipped weapons. Confirmed at launch.
🛡️
Shield Sprite
Passive shield regeneration while attached. Confirmed at launch.
👁️
Shadow Sprite
Temporary invisibility when stationary. Confirmed at launch.
Sprites are gathered from Sprite nests scattered across the map. Each player can carry one active Sprite at a time. Switching Sprites mid-match is possible by picking up a new one, which displaces the current companion.
3. Battle Pass | 8 Skins Including John Wick Cel-Shaded Collab
The Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass contains 8 named skins across the 100-tier track, headlined by a cel-shaded version of John Wick rendered in the "Pen and Ink" comic-book art style. The Wick collab marks the first time the character has appeared in Fortnite since the original 2019 Boogeyman set, updated for Chapter 7 with an entirely new cosmetic presentation.
| Skin | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| John Wick (Pen and Ink) | Licensed Collab | Cel-shaded, comic-book art style. First Wick skin in Fortnite since 2019 Boogeyman set. |
| Vanguard Slone | Returning Character | IO operative Slone in a new vanguard armor variant. Ties to Geno reveal narrative. |
| The Guardian | Original | Heavy armored original skin. High-tier Battle Pass reward. |
| Heatwave PJ | Original | Casual summer skin with PJ-style outfit. Mid-tier Battle Pass. |
| Dylan | Original | Streetwear-focused original character. Early Battle Pass tier. |
| Cluster | Original | Abstract design with fragmented visual motif, references season shatter theme. |
| The Voidblade | Original | Dark energy sword-wielding character. Stylistically linked to the Zero Point aesthetic. |
| Wolfe | Original | Fast, aggressive character design matching the Runners season identity. |
The Battle Pass also includes a dedicated Page 2 bonus section unlockable after tier 100, containing additional back blings, pickaxes, wraps, and loading screens. Specific Page 2 contents are typically revealed mid-season. The John Wick Pen and Ink skin is positioned in the mid-to-upper tier range of the pass, not behind Page 2.
4. Weapons | Every New and Returning Gun in Season 3
The Season 3 weapon pool is the most diverse Fortnite has shipped at season launch in three chapters. Seven weapons are new or returning from the vault, accompanied by named collab weapons tied to the John Wick Battle Pass skin.
| Weapon | Category | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Chaos Reloader Assault Rifle | Assault Rifle | New. Enhanced by Fire Sprite buff. Fast TTK at mid-range. |
| O.X.R. Rifle | Marksman Rifle | New. Semi-automatic, longer range. Fills gap left by Season 2 vaulted rifles. |
| John Wick Pistol | Pistol | Collab item. High damage per shot, fits aggressive playstyle. |
| Ranger Pistol | Pistol | Returning. Standard floor loot pistol, reliable mid-season backup. |
| Rift Pistol | Exotic Pistol | New. Fires projectiles that create micro-rifts on impact, displacing hit opponents briefly. |
| Long-Range Gatekeeper Shotgun | Shotgun | New. Extended effective range for a shotgun class. High value in Zero Build. |
| Iron Pump Shotgun | Shotgun | Returning from vault. Close-range dominant. One-shot potential at legendary rarity. |
| Twin Mag SMG | SMG | New. Dual-magazine system with alternating fire, higher sustained DPS than standard SMGs. |
| Flex SMG | SMG | Returning. Consistent floor loot SMG, mid-tier reliability across all ranges. |
The Rift Pistol is the most mechanically distinct weapon in the pool. The micro-rift displacement effect is not confirmed to deal fall damage, but opponent repositioning is enough to break shot continuity and disrupt build-to-edit combos in standard modes. In Zero Build, it functions as a positioning disruptor rather than a pure damage dealer.
5. Free Locker Items | What Shattered Event Attendees Receive
Two free cosmetics are being distributed to players who attended the Shattered live event on June 5. Both items auto-deliver to the locker once Season 3 servers are fully online. No redemption code or manual claiming required.
ALL ATTENDEES
Chaos Cutlasses Pickaxe
Available to every player who logged into the Shattered event, regardless of faction choice or squad size.
SQUAD ATTENDEES ONLY
Bark Voyager Sidekick
Delivered to players who experienced the Shattered event with at least one squadmate in party. Solo players do not receive this item.
Players who were unable to attend due to server issues can request manual locker credit via Epic's player support portal. Standard processing time is 48 to 72 hours after Season 3 goes live.
6. Why This Season Is Different | The Zero Point Is Now the Game
Every prior Fortnite season that used the Zero Point as a narrative device kept it off the map. It was either underground, contained inside a device, locked inside a vault, or visible only during events. Chapter 7 Season 3 puts it in the center of the loot map, exposed, active, and radiating the energy that spawns Seven Caches and Rift Pistol rifts across the island.
That design decision shapes the entire season's macro strategy. The Zero Point as a hot-drop means the most contested location on the map is also the location most likely to generate Seven Cache drops. Players who can win the Zero Point early gain access to Seven Power Boots that the rest of the server does not have, creating a compounding advantage that Fortnite's standard loot-pool structure has never offered before.
This is also the first season in which Geno and the Imagined Order are confirmed as active threats with no mediating faction. The Foundation is narratively compromised after Shattered, Jones is operating without his key item after the betrayal, and the Ice King's status after the finale is ambiguous. Season 3 begins with every established faction either weakened, missing, or unknown, which gives Epic significant narrative freedom for mid-season story beats.
